KNOWING THE LORD

Scripture Reading: John 17.

Memory Verse: John 17:3.

 

1. How essential is it to know the Lord? John 17:3.

2. In order for the disciples to know the Lord, what did Yahshua  do? John 17:6.

3. In what way did He manifest His Name? John 17:8 (1st part).

4.  What was accomplished through the acceptance of His Word? John 17:8 (last part).

5.  What is the first step to knowing the Lord? Romans 10:17.

6.  When asked, whom did Peter declare Yahshua  to be? Matthew 16:13-16.

7.  What was the source of Peter’s revelation? Matthew 16:17.

NOTE   It would be good for us, if we would study such Scriptures as 1 John 2:4-6, and 1 John 1:3-7, and also the 3rd chapter of 1 John. Now it is seen why it is life eternal to accept Yahshua , for in Him dwells all the fullness of the Elohim head. If we have Yahshua  in this manner, He possesses us and in us we have the fulness of heaven. Colossians 1:26,27.

HUMILITY

Scripture reading: Mathew 18:1-20

Memory verse: Mathew 18:3.

1.  In coming to the earth, what examples of humility did the savior set: Luke 2:11, 12, 16.

2. What prophetic fulfillment do we have of his humility? Zachariah 9:9 Mathew 21:1-11.

3. In what way did the savior humble Him self? Philippians 2:5

4. What did the disciples want to know of the savior?  Mathew 18:1.

5. Whom did he set as a role model for them? Matthew 18:2-4.

 

 

NOTE: ‘Converted and become’. There are some who are truly converted and yet are not humble, many believers are found in this category. One may appear to be humble until there is an issue involved that demands submission, then he rebels against authority; this often causes divisions.

6. How does Paul further interpret the meaning of the world ‘children’ 1 Corinthians14:20?

7. What will the quality of ‘children in malice’ lead us to do? Matthew 5:43-45.

8. If we are ‘children in malice’ what degree of perfection will we be lead to? Mathew 5:46-48.

NOTE   Unforgiveness, malice anger and so on hinder a believer’s growth and development just as diseases do the physical body, it takes a humble hearten which the savoir dwells to forgive and forget? Proverbs 15:33.

12. What are the products of humility and fear of the lord? Proverbs 22:4.

JUSTIFICATION

Scripture Reading: Romans 4.

Memory Verse: Galatians 2:20.

 

1.  What is the source of all justification? Romans 8:33.

2. How is this marvelous transformation made possible? Titus 3:7. Please read Verses 5 & 6 and Ephesians 2:8.

 

NOTE:. — It is only by the grace of Elohim through the atoning power in the blood of the Lamb that we will ever stand justified before Elohim .

3. Paul had a knowledge of justification. Also please read Romans 5:9-11.

4. Can we earn or pay for justification? Romans 3:24-26.

5. How do we reconcile the wonderful truth clearly contained in Romans 3:27, 28, and 31?

 

NOTE:. — The apostle says here that justification does not need assistance of human efforts rendered in the keeping of the law. The merits of Messiah’s righteousness far excel anything we may gain in this way. We must realize that justification by faith does not give license to lead a Elohim defying life. Messiah by faith must reign as Lord within our heart. Only then are we covered by the grace of Elohim  and righteousness.

6.  What truth did Paul teach? Galatians 2:16,21.

 

NOTE:. — Paul was concerned about traditions and rules that often keep the Holy Spirit from working in the hearts of the people. Formalities and ceremonies too often hinder and leave little room for the Spirit of Elohim .

 

7.  How did absolute faith in Elohim effect Abraham? Genesis 15:5,6.

8.  Is justification restricted to any one race? Romans 3:29; 15:12; Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:11-15.

9. How far reaching was the great commission? Matthew 28:19, 20.

 

NOTE:. — The Gospel Commission is not to be governed by climatic conditions, natural border lines or differences in race and color. All have sinned, all stand in need of salvation; and Calvary excludes no one. Romans 3:23; 10:12; Revelation 21:6; 22:17.

 

10.  What was the degree of Abraham's faith in the promises of Elohim ? Romans 4:20,21.

11.  How was he rewarded? Vs 22.

12.  On what condition does our reward depend? Verses 23 -25.

13.  The gift of faith is necessary in each life in order to fulfills the law of righteousness? Romans 9:30-32; 8:4; Colossians 1:27; 1 John 1:7; Matthew 3:15.

EXAMPLES OF OBEDIENCE AND DISOBEDIENCE

Scripture reading: Matthew 7:13-29.

Memory verse: Deut. 28:1.

1.  What befell the sons of Aaron when they disobeyed the Lord's Commandments? Lev. 10:1-3; Num. 3:4.

2. What was Abraham's reward for being obedient? Heb. 11:8-12; Gen. 22:17-18.

3. What catastrophe came upon the house of Eli? I Sam. 2:12-17, 22-24, 27, 34, 35; 4:10, 11.

NOTE:. — Disobedience always causes disaster in one form or another. Obedience is the act of conforming to the commands of a superior. It is one of the fundamentals necessary to the Messianic life. Faith in itself is a form of obedience.

4. What became of the Israelites that came out of the captivity of Egypt due to their disobedience? Num. 14:26-34.

5. How does Elohim feel towards the obedient and the disobedient Prov. 12:2; 15:9; I Sam. 15:22, 23.

6. What admonition did Moses give to Israel? Deut. 4:1-4.

 

7.  The Saviour, our great example, was also our example in obedience. Mark 14:36; Rom. 5:19 and Phil. 2:8.

 

NOTE:. — We can see by the passage of Messiah's life that He was tempted, that He was human, that He was put to every test: yet with that wonderful self effacement He came forth from every trial obedient even unto death.

8. By the obedience of Messiah we are saved. How did He learn obedience? Heb. 5:7, 8.

THE WAY OF LIFE

Scripture reading: John 14:1-21.

1. What does Messiah declare Himself to be? John 14:2, 6.

2. What is the gift of Elohim, and how does it come? Rom. 6:23.

 

3. How many may be made partakers of this gift? Rev. 22:17.

4. What do we possess if we truly accept the Saviour? I John 5:12.

5. In order to abide in Messiah what is necessary? I John 2:6; Luke 8:21.

6. What wonderful promise did the Lord make to those who follow Him? John 1:4, 9; 8:12.

7. When one is following the instructions of Messiah, whose life will be made manifest? Gal. 3:26, 27; II Cor. 5:15.

8. How do we become the children of Elohim? Gal. 3:26; John 3:3.

9. How can we show that we have faith in the Saviour? James 2:18.

NOTE:. — The Saviour spent His life for others to save them for the eternal Kingdom to come. In order to follow in His steps and be a true disciple we must likewise joyfully spend our life in the same works.

10. With whom are the children of Elohim joint heirs? Rom. 8:17.

11. In whom only is there salivation? Acts 4:12; John 10:7,9.

HEROIC RACE

Scripture reading: Heb. 11.

1. After Satan and his evil angels were cast down into this world because of their rebellion, what loud voice was proclaimed in heaven? Rev. 12:11, 12.

2. How dangerous and powerful are the powers that the child of Elohim  is continuously battling with? Eph. 6:12.

NOTE:. — A hero is one who sees the danger, fears it and yet meets it, and is victorious.

3.  What is the motive of our opponents? I Peter 5:8; Rev. 12:17.

4. In order to face the destroyer and be victorious, what is one advised to do? Nah. 2:1; I Peter 5:8 (1st part); Deut. 31:6.

5.  What are some armaments one is advised to put on? Eph. 6:13-18.

6. How mighty and powerful are these weapons? II Cor. 10:4-6.

7. Why should one not be afraid to face the enemy? I John 4:4.

8. Who is the first among heroes? Heb. 12:2; John 16:33 (last part); Rev. 3:21 (last part).

THE LITTLE FLOCK

5.  As a result of this neglect, what happened to the flock? Ezekiel 34:5,6.

6.  What was Elohim ’s attitude toward the shepherds? Ezekiel 34:10.

8.  With what did those ancient shepherds feed the flock? Ezekiel 34:18,19.

NOTE   This refers to the priests and prophets that hid the truth from the people in their day.

GUARD AGAINST

DISCORD AND DECEPTION

1.  Is there any danger of being deceived?   Colossians 2:8; 1  John 4:1.

2.  What will become of those who follow the teaching of man?   Col  2:20-22.

3.  Did the disciples understand the gospel or mission of Messiah at first?  Luke 9:51-56.

4.  Even after Pentecost how did Peter fail in leading the church? Galati  2:11-13.

5.  In what way are people easily deceived? 2 Peter 2:1-3.

6.  What unfavorable condition developed at Corinth that may have been the result of deception? 1 Corinthians 1:11-13.

7.  What were some converts trying to bring into the church in the time of Paul? Galatians 4:8-11; Acts 15:5.

8.  With what strong words did Paul withstand these teach­ings? Acts 15:10.

NOTE:. — Those who are willingly deceived may be divided into two classes. There are those who love the traditions of men so well that they refuse to consider evidence from the Bible—Elohim 's Holy Word may disturb their present thought. There are also those who are not interested enough in the truth to study for themselves.

IN THE WORLD BUT NOT OF THE WORLD

Scripture Reading: Deut 7:1-11.

Memory Verse: John 17:15.

 

I. Who was the founder of a good share of these nations? I Chronicles 1:13-16; Genesis 10:15. Who was Canaan? Genesis 9: 18

2. Were these nations to be destroyed and driven out immediately? Exodus 23:27-33: Deut 7:22.

3. The Philistines continued for a long time to be real enemies of Israel. Were they closely related to the other tribes? I Chronicles 1:12, Genesis 10:7-11.

4. How do you harmonize Deuteronomy 7:2 with Exodus 20:13?

5. Why did the Lord not want them to intermarry with these heathen nations? Deuteronomy 7: 3- 4. But rather, how should they deal with them and why? Deuteronomy 7:5-6.

6. Under the new covenant or testament teaching, Elohim has called, and still is calling out a people for His Name. How are we to treat the world, or those not in Messiah? Ephesians 5:1-7.

7. Is this in accord with the words of Yahshuah? Matthew 5:21-26.38-48.

8.  A good lesson for separation of influences, good and evil, will be found in 2 Corinthians 6:14-16.

 

 What then, are we to do about it? 2 Corinthians 6:17-18.

9. What do you understand by being in the world but not of the world? John 17:6, 11, 12, 15, 16.

 NOTE  in the Beginning darkness was everywhere, Elohim said, let there be light. He separated light from the dark. The same case applies Spiritually. Light and dark can not mix. Gen 1:1; Thes 5:5.

 DISCIPLINING CHILDREN; A DOCTRINE

Scriptural reading: Deut 21:  18-21

Memory verse: Ephesian 6: 4

1. To whom does the children belong? Psalms 127:3.

2. Who knows the formation of a child? Ecclesiastes 11:5.

3. What is Elohim’s instruction to parent concerning the children he has provided them with? Pro 29:17.

4. When should parent teach their children the principles of Elohim? Duet 6:6-7.

5. Do parent love their children when they do not correct them? Pro 13:24.

6. What will a child that is left to Himself do? Pro 29:15.

7. Is there Biblical evidence that parents should not withhold disciplinary measures from their children? Pro 22:6, 2Timothy 3:2, 1 Samwel3:11-13.

NOTE  Discipline is training that produces obedience, self-control, or a particular skill or virtue. Skill is the ability to do a certain task well. When a child is disciplined the ability to perform in obedience to Elohim and parents will be evident. He will possess controlled behavior. 

8. In correcting their children, What are parents delivering their children from? Pro 23:13, 14.

9. What should children seek while they are young? Ecclesiastes 12:1.

10. Shortly before the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, what did Elohim say he knew of Abraham? Genesis 18:19.

11. What does life have in store for the disobedient child? Compare Ephesians 6:1-3, and Proverbs 30:17.

12. What is disobedience compared to? 1 Samuel 15:23.

13. What was the judgment of a child that was disobedient? Deuteronomy 21:18-21.

Finally: Pray to Elohim that He will help you with the responsibility of rearing   the children which he has entrusted you with, so that they may be obedient and ready to do his will.

NOTE: . — In order to do the will of our Father in Heaven, we must accept Messiah, be born again, and keep the commandments of Elohim, this is the wisdom of Elohim, thereby showing our love to Elohim.

5. In what way did the Lord Elohim admonish the Children of Israel about the tongue? Leviticus 19:16.

NOTE:. — One thing which seems so easy and natural for many people to do is to talk foolishly. There are so many things to say that will amuse people and make them, laugh. This is one chief enjoyment of worldly people, but Messianic believers have a higher and greater joy than this, and it is out of place for them to make practice of such foolishness.

WORK OF SATAN

 Scripture reading:  James  4.

1. What is the work of satan , contrary to the Lord’s? John 10:13

2. How did Satan disrupt the peace and tranquillity of   the Garden of   Eden?   Gen.  3:1-6.

3. What happened to Achan when he succumbed to the temptation of Satan?  Joshua 7:20, 21, 25.

4. What did Satan use to turn Solomon's heart from the Lord?  1 Kings 11:1-4.

5. Was the Lord Yahshuah exempt from the temptations of Satan?  Matt. 4:1-3.

 

NOTE:. — In the foregoing scriptures we see that the devil is no respecter of persons, he tempts everyone. Our daily prayer should be that Elohim would grant us power to resist the devil, then and only then will he flee from us. — James 4:7.

6.   What can we do that will help us from certain temptations? Psa.  1:2; Prov. 4:14.

7.  With what words of warning did Paul give to the Church in his ministry to the Corinthians? 1 Cor. 2:11, 11:2-3; 1 Thes 3: 5.

NOTE:.- Without Messiah Yahshuah we can do nothing. But thanks be unto Elohim who gives us the victory. For greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

GOOD WORKS

Scripture reading: Heb. 11:1-13.

Memory verse: Gal: 3:9.

 

NOTE:. — Many Messianic believers today have asked the question, is it by our faith or by our works that we are saved? The lesson today will show that faith should not be without works neither should works be without faith. But let us not confuse works or faith with the everlasting grace of the Father which we find only through His only begotten Son.

1. What should we do with the talents Elohim  gives us? Matthew 25:15, 16.

2. What are the rewards of the faithful? Matthew 25:21.

3. What are the rewards of the unfaithful? Matthew 25:28-30.

4.  Is the Lord faithful to us? Psalms 119:90 see also Psalms 143:1 and Lamentations 3:23.

5.  What can we learn through the trying of our faith? James 1:3.

6.  Are we able to work miracles by the law or through faith? Galatians 3:5; Acts 6:8.

7. Are we to be content with our faith in the Lord, or should we seek to do works also? James 2:14, 22.

8. Are we to be justified by works or faith only, or should we have both faith and works? Galatians 2:16 see also James2:21-24.

9. Need we only show our faith or should we show our faith by our works? James 2:18.

SIN AND THE REMEDY

Scripture reading: Exodus 20:1-21.

Memory verse: James 2:10, 11.

1. What is sin declared to be? James 2:10, 11.

2. How were the sins of the people pardoned in ancient time? Lev. 5:14, 15; 7:11, 37, 38.

 

NOTE:. — The penalty for breaking any one of the Ten Commandments during the Old Testament period was death by stoning. It was not only for Sabbath breaking, but for each one of the commandments. Lev. 24:13-17.

3.In case a person was too poor to afford a lamb, what was substituted? Lev. 5:7.

4.  Why were these innocent lambs slain? To what did this atonement point? John 1:29-34; I Peter 1:19.

5. Was it the Ten Commandment Law that was abolished, or was it this old system of pardon that ended? Heb. 10:3-12.

 

 

NOTE:. — When we read of the sufferings of our Saviour on the cross and behold the agony of His crucifixion, we should be impressed in the same way that the children of Israel were when they looked upon the killing of those innocent lambs. It should teach us the horrible consequence of disobeying the Great and Mighty One who made the world and created us in His own likeness. We should be made to fully understand that the breaking of this law brought about the death of our beloved Lamb and Saviour on the cross, just the same as sin brought the death of those animals back then.

 

6. How was the long promised Messiah and Saviour to come into the world? Isaiah 7:14.

7. Was He to be offered as a lamb for the sins of the people? Isaiah 53:7, 8.

NOTE:. — The reason many of the Jewish people are still in the dark concerning the coming of the Messiah is that the entire 53rd chapter of Isaiah was omitted from their synagogue reading nearly two thousand years ago by their leaders. However, since the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls (which contained the chapter), it is considered an authentic part of the Holy writings.

THOU SHALL NOT BOW DOWN YOURSELF

Scripture reading:  Acts 14:11-23.

Memory verse:   Exodus 20:5.

1. Is the   Lord our Elohim a jealous Elohim?  Exo.  20:3-5.

2.What   did the    Lord   Elohim   forbid   his   people   to make   unto   themselves?   Exo.   20: 23 ; Lev.   26:1;   Deut. 4:15-18, 23 24.

3. When   Israel   disobeyed   this   commandment   shortly after leaving   Egypt,   how   many   of   them   did   Elohim   consume   in   one   day?  Exo 32:28; 19: 21.

4.   What did  the  Lord  our Elohim  command His people to   do   after   they   were   to   inherit    the   Land   promised unto  their  fathers?   Numbers   33:51-52.

5.   Was   Israel   obedient   in   this?   Ezekiel   23:12-16.

6.  At the time of the prophet Ezekiel, did the children of   Israel worship images   and idols?   Was this an abomination   in   the   sight   of   the   Lord?   Ezekiel   8:5- 10.

7.   On what will the Lord show His displeasure when He comes?   Isa.   2:12,   16.

8.  What was John told when he bowed himself down to   worship   an   angel?   Rev.   19:10,   22:8-9.

9.    Whom   did   Yahshua   say   that   we   should   worship? John 4: 23 - 24.

10. Who were the angels asked to worship? Heb. 1: 6.

 

NOTE:.  — We must worship the Father and the Son, but we are forbidden to worship or pray   to angels or any of the host of heaven.

 

11. What   are   we   particularly   warned   to   flee   from by   the great   apostle   Paul?   1   Cor.   10:14.

 

NOTE:. — Again and again we are warned in the New as well as in the Old Testament against idolatry. The dictionary has this to say: Idolater, an adorer of images, one who is inordinately fond of some person or thing. Images - a visible representation of something, a statue, picture, idol, etc. Too bad that there are so many people who worship images (pictures) of Savior, and Mary His mother or angels, or even saints or someone who is dead. Surely this is idolatry and is forbidden.

THIRD COMMANDMENT

 

Scripture Reading: Ephesian 5:1-20.

NOTE  We see that taking an oath was not forbidden by the law of Moses. However Yahshua came to magnify the law (Isaiah 42:21) and this forbids taking an oath.

4.How serious an offence is it to take the name of the Lord our Elohim in vain? Leviticus 24: 1 1-14.

5. What did Paul have to say about vain words? Ephesians 5:4, 6; 4:29; Colossians 3:8. See Matt 5:37.

6. What has the Lord promised us if we order our conversation aright? Psalms 50:23.

7. Are we able to order our conversation aright with­out a change of heart? Matthew 12:34, 35.

8. Shall we be judged by what we say? Matthew 12:36, 37.

NOTE  We are assured in the Holy Writ of Elohim that we shall not be held guiltless if we use the name of the Lord in vain, such as in swearing, or in taking an oath, or if we refuse to keep the Commandments of Elohim, and follow the traditions of men instead.

 Fouth COMMANDMENT (Part 1)

NOTE:. — The Lord rested, and then He blessed and sanc­tified   the rest day, thus setting   it   apart for holy purposes.

 

3.What example of Sabbath keeping did the Lord set among Israel after their deliverance?  Exodus   16:4, 5, 14, 15:

4. What were they to do on the sixth day?  Verses 22, 23.

5.  How was this double portion preserved? Verse 24.

6. In what words did Moses stress the reason for this two-fold gathering?  Verses 25, 26.

NOTE:. — Many present day preachers are trying to make the "Sabbath Day a shadow that met its fulfillment at the cross. They “err not knowing the Scriptures". We observe that the Sabbath, the seventh day, antedates sin. When the Sabbath was made for man (Mark 2:27) the shadows were not in existence, for sin was not yet known. This being so, the seventh day Sabbath cannot be classed in the same category as the; shadow Sabbath found in Lev.: 23, and elsewhere. The Scriptures show this day to "be a, memorial of Elohim’s creative work and not a shadow of anything to come.

Fouth COMMANDMENT (Part 2)

1. When a man came to Yahshua and inquired,   "What must I do?" what did Yahshua reply? Matt.  19:16-19.

 

NOTE:. — Notice how Yahshua emphasized the keeping of the Holy Commandments of Elohim. Many who are seek­ing to justify themselves in not keeping the Sabbath say that Yahshua mentioned the other commandments here, but made no mention of the Sabbath. They overlook the fact that the entire first 4 commandments were not men­tioned here, and we all know that we can not take the name of the Lord our Elohim in vain, and be guiltless.

 2. When Yahshua spoke about the destruction of Jerusa­lem   (which   took   place in   70   C.E.),   did   He ask   His followers to keep the Sabbath of the Lord our Elohim? Matt.  24:20.

3.What did Isaiah  say that Yahshua would do to the law? Isa. 42:21.

4. Did Yahshua emphasize the law? Matt. 27:28.

5. On what day of the week did the holy women rest after the death of Yahshua? Luke 23:56.

6.How long did Yahshua say the law would remain? Matt. 5:18.

7. What day of the week did Yahshua say is the Lord's day? Mark 2:28.

8. According   to   the   Holy   Commandments   of   Elohim, what day of the week is the Sabbath? Ex. 20:10.

10. Often we hear the Sabbath referred to as “that old   Jewish   Sabbath;"   to   whom   does   the   Sabbath   belong? Neh. 9:14.

NOTE:. — Paul was the apostle of the gentiles, and he worked   many years   among   them.   The   records in the Bible prove that he was a Sabbath keeper, for he taught the law, as we read in Rom.  3: 31 "Do we then make void the law through faith?  Elohim forbid: yea,   we   establish   the   law." Also in the 7th. Chapter he says the law has dominion over a man as long as he    lives.

THE FIFTH COMMANDMENT

1.  Must children be obedient in order to be pleasing to the Lord? Colossians 3:20; 1 Timothy 5:4.

2. Are children to continue to hearken to their parents even when they are well up in years? Proverbs 23:22.

3. Was Yahshua an example in obeying his mother and Joseph? Are we to follow this example? Luke 2:51; 1 Corinthians 11:1.

4.  What wonderful blessing will Elohim shower upon those who honor and obey their parents? Ephesians 6:1-3.

5.  What awful curse has Elohim pronounced upon disobedient children? Exodus 21:17; Proverbs 30:17; Matthew 15:5, 6.

6.  What will one of the prominent sins of the last days be? 2 Timothy 3:2.

7. How are children to regard the aged? Leviticus 19:32.

8. What did Abraham teach his children? Genesis 18:18, 19.

9. If we wish to lay claim to the promise, as heirs of Abraham, what must we do? John 8:39.

10. How   diligently should parents teach their children? Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4.

11.What good fruits will proper child training produce? Proverbs 29:17, 15.

12. Is there danger in delaying correction too long? Proverbs 19:18; 13:24.

NOTE:. - Every Messianic family should have a family altar; it is the parents' duty to see that every child of the family is present. As soon as a child is old enough to read and to pray it should be given a definite part in the family worship.

THE SIXTH COMMANDMENT

NOTE:. — The correct definition of the word murder means to take away life, therefore we, need to give this question very serious thought. Very often the taking of life is legalized, but we must always bear in mind that Elohim is the, giver of life, and therefore we should leave the taking of life in His hands, and His hands alone. — Deut. 32:39; 1 Sam. 2:6.

THE SEVENTH COMMANDMENT

Scripture   reading:   Matt  19:1-18.

Memory verse:  Exodus 20:14.

1.  What reply did Yahshua give when a man asked Him how he might gain   eternal life?   Matt.   19:16-17.

2. Did   Yahshua make   it   plain   to   him   that   He   was referring to the holy Ten Commandments, which were written by the finger of Elohim, upon two tables of stone? Matt.   19:18-19.

3.   Which one of   the holy   Ten Commandments   did the   Pharisees mocked?   Matt.   19: 3.

4. What was Yahshua'  reply?  Matt.   19:4-6.

5. When   a man or women divorces and remarries, what   sin   is   he   or   she   committing?   Mark   10:11-12; Luke 16:18.

6.What instruction did the wise man, Solomon, give concerning   this   gross   sin?   Prov.   6:32.

7. How long is a marriage   to continue,   and when may either party remarry? 1 Cor. 7:10-11, 39; Rom. 7:2-3

8. If  any  one who  knows  the  truth  concerning  di­vorce  and remarriage  goes  and  commits  this  gross  sin, what is he to be referred to as? Rom.   7:1-3.

9. When   a   man   and   woman   have   entered   into   a marriage agreement, who witnesses this covenant?  Malachi 2:14-16.

10. May a man who has been involved in any way in   these   unfortunate   circumstances   be   a   preacher   or hold   an   office   in   the   Church   of   Elohim?   1   Tim.   3:2; Titus   1:5-6.

11.  Who will the Lord our Elohim judge?  Heb.   13: 4, last part.

12. What class of people will not inherit life eternal? 1   Cor.  6:9-10.

NOTE:. - Divorce and remarriage is one of the gross sins   which   is   mounting   by   leaps   and   bounds,   just   as Yahshua said   that   would   at   the   time   of the end.   Al­though   the   law   of   the   land   allows   it,   yet   it   is   sin in the sight of Almighty LORD.  All sinners shall be cast into   the   lake   which   burns   with   fire   and   brimstone. We need   to   he   careful and   teach   the truth,   not   only on   this   vital   subject,   but   as   Paul   said:   "I   have   not shunned declaring unto you the whole counsel of Elohim" — Acts 20:27.

THE EIGHTH COMMANDMENT

 Scripture Reading: Joshua 7.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:28.

1. Why did Achan steal the Babylon’s garment and the gold and silver? Joshua 7:21.

2. How did Joshua warn the people: and did Achan know that he had sinned? Joshua 6:17-19.

3.Does this prove that Achan’s heart was not right with Elohim? Mathew 15:19.

 

NOTE: :  when  Achan saw the gold and silver he coveted them, and took them for himself,. The gold and silver were consecrated, and were to be used in the work of the lord. When Achan took that which was rightfully the lord’s he brought a curse upon himself and upon all that belonged to him.

 

4.How exacting must we be in all of our dealings? Leviticus 19:35-37, 1 Thessalonians 4:4-8.

5.What did two of the greatest kings of Israel say about unjust gain: and borrowing without returning? Psalms 37:21; Proverbs 28:8.

6.What did the prophet Jeremiah say about ‘unjust dealings against one’s neighbor? Jeremiah 22:!3.

7.  What portion of our increase belongs to Elohim? Leviticus 27:30-32

 

8. Stealing from man is a very serious offence, and the jails and houses of correction are full of people who have committed this grave sin. How about stealing from the lord our Elohim? Malachi 3:9.

 

9. What sin are people guilty of when they fail to give the Holy portion of their increase unto the lord? Malachi 3:8.

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE  Whenever a person who has stolen money or goods is found out, they are punished for their deed. Those who steal the Holy tithes from the lord shall also be punished. The scriptures tell us about certain class of people who gather money and put it into bags which have holes, let us not be numbered among those.

 

 

10. Does the lord our Elohim bless those who are faithful in paying the Holy tithes, Malachi 3:10.

11. Has the Lord promised to rebuke the devourer for our sake if we are faithful tithe payers? Malachi 3:11

 NOTE  Yahshua Had Said “Destroy this temple’ an in three days I will raise it up again. But the people being carnal understood not that Yahshua was speaking about His body and not about a building made by man John 2:19.

 

3.In what strong words did the great apostle Paul admonish the converts at Ephesus? Ephesians 4:24, 25.

4. Will the forgers of lies go unpunished? Proverbs 19:5; 6:16-19.

5. Dare we as brethren think evil of one another? Zechariah 7: 9, 10, 13.

6. What class of people will use their mouth to destroy their fellow man? Proverbs 11:9, 12, 13.

 7. How does Elohim warn against raising a false report? Exodus 23:1.

8. Must we expect false accusers to be on the increase in these days in which we live, and will those who are good be despised? 2Timothy 3:1-5.

NOTE  When we as Messianic hear a report about anyone or anything, we should be very sure that it is correct before we believe it or repeat it to the detriment of somebody, lest we become guilty of believing and loving a lie. It is important for us to seek the truth in all things. We should always keep our minds open for the truth and on guard against deception.

Wema wa haki ya Massiah umepita kwa njia kubwa jambo lolote tunaloweza kulipata kwa njia hii. Ni lazima tufahamu kuwa kuhesabiwa haki kwa sababu ya imani hakumpi yeyote kibari cha kuishi maisha ya kumkaidi Elohim Masiya anafaa atawale kama Bwana ndani ya mioyo kwa njia ya imani. Basi wakati huo pekee, tutakuwa tumesimamiwa na Neema ya Elohim na Haki Yake.

FAHAMU: Paulo alikuwa akinjishughulisha dhidi ya tamaduni za sheria ambazo mara nyingi humzuia Roho Mtakatifu kufanya kazi ndani ya mioyo ya watu. Masharti na sherehe za watu mara nyingi humzuia na kumwachia Roho wa Elohim nafasi ndogo zaidi.

7.Imani halisi katika Bwana ilimwadhiri Abrahamu vipi? Mwanzo 15: 5,6.

 FAHAMU: Tunaona katika hadithi ya maisha ya Mesiya kwamba alijaribiwa, na kwamba alikuwa mwanadamu,na kwamba alipitia katika kila majaribu: Lakini kwa sababu ya unyenyekevu wa ajabu akapitia majaribu yote, na akawa mtiifu mpaka kufa.

Kuna wale pia ambao hawana shauku ya kutosha katika kweli ili wajifunze wenyewe.

Fahamu: Nidhamu ni mafunzo yanayozaa utiifu, kiasi, ama unjuzi fulani au tabia nzuri. Unjuzi ni uwezo wa kufanya jambo Fulani vyema. Wakati mtoto ameandabishwa, matokeo huwa ni uwezo wa kutenda mambo kwa utiifu kwa Elohim na kwa wazazi. Mtoto atapokea tabia yenye kudhibitika.

9.  Watoto wanafaa watafute nini wakiwa wachanga?  Mhubiri 12:1

10.Mda mfupi kabla ya kuangamizwa kwa miji ya Sodoma na Gomora, Elohim alisema ananjua nini kumhusu Ibrahim. Mwanzo 18: 19.

11.Maisha yamemwekea nini mtoto ambaye sii mtiifu? Effeso 6: 1-3, Mithali 30: 17.

12. Kutotii kumefananishwa na nini? 1 Samuel 15:23.

13. Hukumu ya mtoto ambaye hakuwa mtiifu ilikuwa gani? Torati 21: 18-21

Hatimaye: Muombe Elohim ili akusaindie katika majukumu ya kuwalea watoto ambao amekuaminia kulea, ili wawe watiifu na wawe tayari kufanya mapenzi yake.

Fahamu: Jambo moja ambalo laonekana na watu wengi kuwa rahisi na la kawaida kufanya, ni kuongea upunzi (au maneno ya kijinga). Kuna mambo mengi sana ya kusema yanayoweza kuwafurahisha watu na kuwafanya wacheke. Hili ni jambo moja la mambo yanayochangamsha watu wa ulimwengu, lakini wamasihi wana raha tukufu na kubwa kuliko hii, na haiko katika nafasi yao waitumie kufanya ujinga kama huo.

Fahamu: - katika maandiko hayo tunapata kuwa ibilisi habagui watu, huwa anamjaribu kila mtu. Ombi letu la kila siku lafaa kuwa, “ELOHIM UTUPE NGUVU YA KUMPINGA IBILISI” ndipo na ndipo hapo pekee shetani ataondoka kwetu. Yakobo 4:7.

Mafunzo ya leo yataweza kutuonyesha kwamba, imani haifai kukosa matendo na matendo nayo hayafai kukosa imani. Lakini wacheni tusitatanishe matendo au imani na neema ya milele ya Baba  ambayo huwa twaipokea pekee kupitia Mwanaye wa pekee.

1.Dhambi imeelezwa kuwa nini? Yakobo 2:  10,11

2.Dhambi za watu zilikuwa zinasamehewa vipi wakati wa zamani Walawii 5: 14, 15; 7: 11,37,38.

FAHAMU: Athabu kali ya kutangua amri yoyote ya zile kumi katika agano la kale ilikuwa kifo kwa kupigwa na mawe. Sio pekee kwa sababu ya tutangua sabato, lakini kwa kila amri. Walawii 24: 13-17

3. Kwa mtu aliyekuwa maskini kiasi cha kwamba hangepata kondoo, alifaa kutoa nini badala yake? Walawii 5:7.

4.   Ni kwa nini wanakondoo wasiona ila walikuwa wanachinjwa? Suluhu hii ilikuwa inaashiria nini? Yohana 1: 29-34; 1 Petro1: 19.

5. Je, ni sheria ya amri kumi ilioondolewa, au ni njia ya zamani ya kuleta msamaha wa dhambi iliisha? Ebrania 10: 3-12

 

FAHAMU;- Tunaposoma mateso ya mwokozi akiwa pale msalabani, na kuuona uchungu wa kusulubishwa kwake, tunafaa tuelewe kuwa ni kwanjia iyo hiyo wana Waisraeli walikuwa wakihisi walipokuwa wakimtazama mwanakondoo asiyekuwa na hatia akiuwawa. Inafaa itukumbushe matokeo mabaya yatakayotupata kwa kukosa kumtii Bwana Mkuu na mwenye uwezo, ambaye aliuumba ulimwengu na akatuuumba kwa mfano wake mwenyewe. Tunafaa kuelewa kwa ukamiliifu kwamba , kutangua kwa sheria hii kulisababisha kufa kwa mwanakondoo mpendwa na Mwokozi wetu pale msalabani, sawasawa na vile dhambi zilisababisha kuuwawa kwa wanyama hao nyakati hizo.

6.   Masiya, Mwokozi ambaye alikuwa ameahidiwa kwa muda mrefu alifaa kuja vipi hapa ulimwenguni? Isaia 7:14

7.  Alifaa kutolewa kama mwanakondoo kwa sababu ya dhambi za wanadamu? Isaia 53: 7, 8.

 

FAHAMU: Sababu ya Wayahudi wengi wabakie katika giza hata sasa Kuhusiana na kuja kwake Masiya ni kwamba sura yote ya Isaia 53 iliondolewa na viongozi wao na ikakosa kusomwa kwenye sinagogi zao kwa muda takribani wa miaka elfu mbili. Hata hivyo, tangu kugunduliwa kwa chuo kwenye bahari ya chumvi (Vyio ambavyo vimebeba sura hii), imetambulika kuwa ni sehemu ya kweli na halisi ya maandiko matakatifu.

FAHAMU: Tumeonywa tena na tena katika agano jipya na vilevile katika agano la kale kuhusu kuabudu sanamu

Kamusi husema hivi:- Mwabudu sanamu, ni Yule anaye sujudia sanamu au vitu viliivyochongwa, ni mtu anayependezwa sana na kitu kinachoonekana kwa macho kikisimamia sura ya kitu fulani, kitu kilichofanana, Taswira, picha, sanamu na kadharika. Ni vibaya sana kwa sababu kuna watu wanaoabudu sanamu (Mifano) ya Mwokozi na Mariamu mamaye au Malaika au hata mtu anayesemekana kuwa ni mtakatifu. Hakika huu ni Uabudu wa sanamu na miungu na umekatazwa.

4. Ni hatia kubwa namna gani kulitaja bure jina la Bwana Elohim? Lawii 24: 11-14.

5. Paulo alikuwa na yapi ya kusema kuhusu maneno ya bure? Efeso 5: 4, 6, 4: 29, Kolosai 3: 8, Mathayo 5: 37

6. Bwana ametuahidia nini ikiwa tutaweka maongeo yetu sawasawa? Zaburi 50: 23

8. Tutahukumiwa nayale tunayoyasema? Mathayo 12: 36-37

11. Tutahesabiwa kutokuwa na hatia ikiwa tutalitaja jina la Bwana bure. Kutoka 20:7.

 

FAHAMU: Tunahakikishiwa katika sheria takatifu za Bwana kuwa hatutakosa kuhesabiwa kuwa wenye dhambi tukilitaja jina la Bwana bure, kwa mfano kuapa na kula kiapo, au ikiwa tutakataa kutunza amri za Elohim na badala yake tufuate utamaduni wa wanadamu.

AMRI YA NNE (Part 1)

1. Ni kwa jambo lipi kubwa Sabato imeunganishwa (au imehusishwa) nalo? Mwanzo 2:1,2

2. Ni hatua zipi zaidi za kupumzika, zilikuwa zinahitajika kuifanya Sabato? Mst 3

FAHAMU:- Bwana alipumzika, na tena akabariki na akaitakasa siku ya kumpumzika – kwa hivyo akaitenga kwa sababu ya mambo matakatifu.

 

3. Ni mfano upi wa kutunza Sabato Bwana aliweka kati ya waisraeli baada ya kuwaokoa? Kutoka 16:4, 5 14, 15.

4. Walifaa wafanye nini siku ya sita? Mst 22, 23.

5. Ni vipi sehemu hii maradufu ilihifadhiwa? Mst 24

6. Ni kwa maneno yapi Musa alihimiza sababu ya mikebe hii miwili iliyo kusanywa? Mst 25 -26

7. Matokeo yalikuwa yapi wakati ule wale ambao si watiifu walipoenda kutafuta mana siku ya Sabato? Mst 27.

8. Ni kwa maneno gani Bwana aliwakosoa nayo na ni ushauri upi aliwapa? Mst 28-29. 

 

FAHAMU:- Wahubiri wengi wa sasa wanajaribu kuifanya “siku ya Sabato kuwa kivuli ambacho kilitimilika pale msalabani”. Huwa wanakosea kwa kukosa kuelewa maandiko. Tunaona ya kuwa Sabato ilifanywa kwa sababu ya mtu. (mariko 2:27) vivuli havikuweko, kwa sababu, dhambi haikuwa imejulikana bado. Kwa maana Sabato ya siku ya saba, haiwezi kuorodhesha katika kikundi kimoja na Sabato zinazopatikana katika Lawii 23, na mahali penginepo, ambazo ni kivuli. Maandiko huonyesha siku hii kuwa ni “ukumbusho wa kazi ya Elohim ya uumbaji na sio kivuli cha chochote anbacho kilikuwa kinje?

 

9. Ni kwa sababu gani Sabato iliumbwa? Mariko 2:27

10. Katika siku za waisraeli ni kina nani zaidi pia walihitajika watunze Sabato takatifu? Isa 56:3 -5.

11. Ni Baraka gani ya kipekee imewangojea (au inawasubiri) matoweshi na wageni wanaotunza Sabato siku hizo? Isaiah 56: 6,7

 

Fahamu: Lazima Sabato ituzwe. Hakuna kazi ama biashara inafaa kufanywa. Lakini ni lazima tufanye matendo mazuri. Lazima watolewe kutoka kwa mashimo  ambayo wameanguka ndani yake.

AMRI YA NNE (Part 2)

1.Wakati mtu alikuja kwa Yahshua akamuliza “nafaa kufanya nini” Yahshua alimjibu vipi? Mathayo 19:16 -19

 

FAHAMU: Fahamu vile Yahshua alihimiza jinsi ya kuntunza amri takatifu za Elohim. Wengi wanaotafuta kujihesabia  haki kwa sababu ya kukosa kutunza Sabato, husema kuwa Yahshua alionesha amri hizo zingine na hakutaja amri ya Sabato. Wanakosa kuona yakuwa Amri zote za kwanza nne hazikuonyeshwa hapa, na sote tunajua ya kuwa hatuwezi kutaja bure jina la Bwana Elohim wetu na tuwe kwamba hatuna dhambi.

2.Wakati Yahshua alipoongea habari ya kuangamizwa kwa Yahrusalem (jambo ambalo lilifanyika mwaka wa 70 C.E.),   aliwaambia wafuasi wake wawe wanatunza Sabato ya Bwana Elohim? Matt.  24:20.

3. Isaia alisema Yahshua atafanya nini kwa sheria? Isaia 42: 21.

4.Yahshua alisisitiza sheria? Mathayo 27: 28

5. Ni siku gani ya juma wanawake watakatifu walipumzika baada ya kifo cha Yahshua? Luka 23: 56

6. Yahshua alisema sheria itabakia kuwa hadi lini? Mathayo 5: 18

7. Ni siku gani ya juma Yahshua alisema ni siku ya Bwana? Mariko 2: 28

8. Kulingana na Amri Takatifu za Elohim, ni siku gani ya juma ambayo ni Sabato? Kutoka 20: 10

9. Sabato ilifanywa kwa sababu ya wayahudi au kwa sababu ya watu wote? Mariko 2: 27

10. Mara kwa mara huwa tunisikia Sabato ikiitwa “Hiyo Sabato ya kale ya wayahudi.” Sabato ni ya nani? Nehemiah 9: 14

11. Wakati Paulo alipokuwa mamia ya maili nje ya Yerusalem akawa mbali mpaka Pisidi, alikuwa bado anatunza Sabato. Na ni siku gani ya juma alikuwa anaenda kanisani akiwa katika nchi hii ya mataifa? Matendo 13: 14

12.Wakati Paulo, Mtume wa mataifa (Rumi 11: 13) alipokuwa akihubiri Mesiya, wayahudi wakakasirika na wakatoka kwenye sinagogi, ni ombi lipi watu wa mataifa waliomba kwa sababu ya mikutano zaidi? Matendo 13: 42-44

13.Ni siku gani ya juma Paulo walikutana kuabudu akiwa makendonia? Matendo 16: 13

14.Paulo vilevile alitunza Sabato alipokuwa na Wamasihi wa Theselonike? Matendo 17: 2 Na Wakorintho? Matendo 18: 4.

FAHAMU: Paulo alikuwa mtume wa Mataifa, na alifanya kazi kwao kwa miaka mingi. Rekodi za Bibilia zaonyesha kuwa alikuwa mtunzaji wa Sabato kwa sababu alikuwa akifundisha sherie kama tunavyosoma Warumi 3: 31. “Basi je? Twabatilisha sheria kwa imani hiyo? Hasha? Kinyume cha hayo twaithibitisha sheria” Na tena katika Rumi 7 husema, sheria ina nguvu juu ya mtu pindi yu hai.

9.Ikiwa tunataka kudai ahadi kama warithi wa Abrahamu, ni lazima tufanye nini? Yohana 8: 39

10.Wazazi wanafaa wawafunze watoto wao kwa bidii vipi? Mithali 22: 6, Efeso 6: 4

11.Ni matunda gani yatatokana na kumfunza mtoto vizuri?  Mithali 29: 17-15

12.Kuna hatari ya kukawia kumfunza mtoto kwa muda mrefu? Mithali 19: 18, 13: 24

FAHAMU: Kila familia ya Mmasihi inafaa kuwa na madhabahu ya familia hiyo, ni jukumu la wazazi kuona kwamba kila mtoto wa familia yake yuko. Mtoto akiwa mkubwa kiasi cha kusoma na kuomba anafaa apewe sehemu fulani katika uabudu wa familia.

 FAHAMU: Maana halisi ya jina “ua”  (Murder) ni kutoa uhai, kwa hivyo tunafaa kufikiria vizuri sana au kwa makini kuhusu swala hili. Mara kwa mara kutoa uhai huharalishwa na sheira) Lakini twafaa tukumbuke kuwa Elohim ndiyemwenye kupeana uhai, na kwa hivyo twafaa kuliacha jambo hilo la kutoa uhai mikononi mwake, na kwenye mikono yake mwenyewe. FAHAMU: Talaka na kuoa au kuolewa tena ni dhambi moja kubwa ambayo inazidi kuwa nyingi kupita kiasi, kama vile duniani huyakubalia mambo haya, bado ni dhambi machoni pa Bwana Mwenyezi. Waovu wote watatupwa kwenye bahari ya moto na kiberiti tunahitaji, kuwa waangalifu na kufunza kweli sio kwa somo hili pekee, lakini kama vile paulo alivyosema; “kwa somo hili pekee, Paulo alisema, “Kwa maana sikujiepusha na kuwahubiria habari ya kusudi lote la Elohim. Matendo 20: 27

1. Ni kwa nini akani aliiba nguo ya kibabeli, na dhahabu na fedha? Joshua 7:21

2. Joshua aliwaonya watu vipi: na je Akani alielewa kwamba alikuwa ameasi? Joshua 6: 17 – 19

3.Jambo hili linaonyesha kuwa Akani hakuwa na haki kwa Elohim? Mathayo 15:19

 

 FAHAMU: Wakati Akani alipoona dhahabu na fedha alizitamani; na akazichukuwa ziwe zake. Dhahabu na fedha zilikuwa zimetengwa, na zilikuwa zitumiwe kwenye kazi ya Bwana. Wakati Akani alipochukua kilicho mfaa Bwana, alijiletea laana yeye mwenyewe na pamoja na vitu vyake vyote.

 4. Tunafaa kuwa na ukamilifu vipi katika kazi zetu zote? Alawii 19: 35 – 37, 1 Wathesalonike 4: 4 – 8

5. Ni vipi wafalme wawili  wakuu wa Israeli walisema kuhusu mapato yasiyo ya haki; na kukopa na kukosa kulipa? Zaburi 37:31, Mithali 28:8

6. Nabii Yeremaya alisemaje kuhusu kufanya mambo yasiyo ya haki dhidi ya wenzetu, Yeremia 22:13

7. Ni sehemu gani ya mapato yetu ambayo ni ya Elohim? Walawii 27: 30 – 32

8. Kumwibia mwanadamu ni hatia mbaya sana, magereza na nyumba za kuwarekebisha zimejua watu ambao wamefanya dhambi hii ya mauti. Je ni vipi kuhusu kumwibia Bwana Elohim ? Bwana mwema atawaacha watu kama hawa bila adhabu? Malachi 3:9.

9. Ni dhambi ipi huwahukumu watu wakati wamekosa kumtolea Bwana, sehemu hii takatifu ya mapato yao? Malaki 3:8

 

 

 

 

 FAHAMU: Wakati mtu ambaye ameiba pesa au vitu anapo kamatwa, huadhibiwa kwa sababu ya kitendo chake kibaya. Wale wanoiba zaka takatifu kutoka kwa Bwana vilevile wataadhibiwa.

Maandiko hutuambia kuhusu kikundi cha watu wanao kusanya pesa na kuziweka kwenye mifuko ambayo imetoboka. Hebu na tusihesabiwe pamoja na hao.

  10. Je, Bwana huwabariki wale ambao ni waaminifu katika kulipla zaka? Malaki 3:10

11. Bwana ameahidi kuwaonya waharibifu kwa sababu yetu tukiwa waaminifu katika kulipa zaka? Malaki 3:11

 FAHAMU: Yahshua alikuwa amesema “haribu hekalu hili na kwa siku tatu nitalijenga” lakini kwa sababu ya watu kuwa katika mwili, hawakuelewa kuwa Yahshua alikuwa akiongea kuhusu mwili wake na sio mjengo ambao umefanyika kwa mikono ya wanadamu Yohana 2: 19

 FAHAMU: Sisi tukiwa Wamesiya, tunaposikia habari kumhusu yeyote au kuhusu chechote, tunafaa kuwa na uhakika kwamba jambo hilo ni kweli, kabla ya kuliamini au kulinena na kumtia mtu Fulani kwenye hatari, au tuwe tumehukumiwa kwa sababu ya kuamini na kuupenda uongo. Nijambo la maana kwetu sisi kutafuta ukweli katika kila jambo. Tunafaa kuwa tumefungua mawazo yetu kila wakati kwa upande wa kweli na tukijihadhari dhidi ya udanganyifu.

FAHAMU: Tumeonywa tena na tena tuikimbie tamaa. Tunajua ya kuwa hii ni dhambi moja ya zile dhambi mbaya zaidi ya kizazi ambacho tunaishi, kwa hivyo tunafaa kuomba kama vile Daudi aliomba; “Ee Elohim unichunguze, ujue moyo wangu, unijaribu uyajue mawazo yangu: uone kama iko njia iletayo majuto ndani yangu ukaniongoze katika njia ya milele zaburi 139: 23-24
