SLANDER AND EVIL SPEAKING
No one likes to be gossiped about, nor does anyone enjoy being slandered. Yet there is certainly no shortage of gossip circles or slander manufacturers. This shows that many have no real antipathy for the sport itself, and that it is only when they themselves are the targets for its bitter arrows that they fully appreciate its loathsomeness. The next time we find ourselves participating in any kind of “evil talking” or unkind speculation, we would do well to examine our motives. We would also do well to ask ourselves if we really know what we are talking about. Often people repeat things about which they have no first-hand knowledge. They may not even know the person whom they are slandering, but have just heard “this and that” from some “insider. “This insider often is, in reality, an “outsider” - which is why he starts the slander in the first place! In fact, some of the chief motives for slander are feelings of inferiority and jealousy, brought on by a weak spiritual state and a need to justify one’s self by denigrating others.

ACCEPTABLE WORSHIP

MURMURING
Scripture Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:1-11.

1. After Elohim had so wonderfully delivered the children of Israel from the Egyptians and brought them through the Red Sea, what did they do? Numbers 14:2-4.
2. Were they satisfied with what Elohim had given them to eat? Numbers 11:4-6.
3. Was Elohim pleased with their murmuring? How did He punish them? Numbers 11:1.
4. What further terrible punishment was brought upon the children of Israel because of this sin? Numbers 14:26-30.
5. How many men of the children of Israel left the land of Egypt? Exodus 12:37.
NOTE: There were six hundred thousand men of Israel when they left the land of Egypt. Out of this great number only two that were above the age of 20 years were allowed to enter the Promised Land. The rest all died in the wilderness. Thus we see the terrible punishment that they received.

NOTE: Complaining (murmuring) has no place in the life of a Messianic . We live to bring forth praise to our Creator. Praise and murmuring are opposites.

CONTENTION - A TOOL OF SATAN
“A house divided against itself cannot stand,” Messiah said. This well-known truth is especially applicable to the Church today. Contention and division are everywhere and are tools Satan uses to make Elohim’s people weak. The Bible teaches strongly against strife and contention among the brethren. Messiah is looking for a people who follow his example in brotherly love. Messiah was very concerned about this in His prayer for His followers. His greatest desire was that, “They all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.. .I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one.” (John 17:21-23.) The very testimony of our unity will cause the world to know that the Gospel which we profess is true. On the other hand, if Elohim’s people become known for contention and strife, this will reflect negatively on Messiah’s cause. As we study what the Bible has to say on this important subject, let us endeavor to purge our hearts of all contentious thoughts and unite in the perfect Will of Elohim.
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-15.

1. What causes fighting and contention? James 4:1; Proverbs 26:21; Proverbs 22:10; Proverbs 13:10.

NOTE: In the above Scripture, peace is compared to the flavor of salt. Just as salt without its flavor is useless, so the Gospel without peace is useless and ineffectual, and becomes a bitter pill to swallow.

Note:- Very many Problems were developed immediately. Problem of nakedness wasn't experienced before. Fear, overcharged with cares of life, toil, food, Pain, suffering and death. He was told - (to the dust you shall return )
4. What blunder did King Saul do that debased his kingship? 1 Samuel 13:6-9, 1 Samuel 13:10; 1 Samuel 13: 11,12;1 Samuel 13:13,14.

NOTE: First “wrong step” influenced forever the future of Saul. (Although he was given second time to prove himself and what his future developments would be). Just one willful disobedience is enough to seal someones doom, for it sears our conscience and makes the next sinful act easier.

FAITH - A DIVINE REQUIREMENT
Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 4.

1. In order to please Elohim, what must we possess? Hebrews 11:6.
2. Where was the first recorded act of faith in a blood atonement made? Hebrews 11:4.
3. What act of faith was required on the evening of Passover? Exodus 12:7.
NOTE: The slaying of the Passover lamb was not enough. It was up to every one to know if the blood had been applied to the door posts of the houses. It is not enough today to know that Messiah lived and died, for every individual must avail himself of the sacrifice He made for them.
4. In by gone days, why was the Word not profitable to the Children of Israel? Hebrews 4:2.
5. How did an Israelite show faith in an atonement by shedding of blood? Leviticus 4:27- 30.
6. What Bible definition is given for faith? Hebrews 11:1

NOTE: Yahshua could have spoken the word and the stone would have moved away under divine control, but He chose to use human power as far as possible. His request in (John 11:39), uncovered the lack of faith in the heart of Martha. After human hand had reached its limit (John 11:41), He called on the Father to do what human power could not do; give life to a dead body. Spiritually speaking, Elohim alone can raise us from spiritual death and decay.

NOAH, A JUST MAN

Note. — Enoch prophesied of the flood when he named his son “Methuselah”, which means “At his death, the sending forth of waters”. Methuselah died the year of the flood.
2. What was the condition in the land in Noah’s day? Genesis 6:5, 12.
3. What did Elohim decide to do about this? Genesis 6:7, 13, 17.
4. Why was Noah not destroyed? Genesis 6:8, 18. Discuss verse 9. Margin on “perfect” is upright.

THE FRIEND OF ELOHIM

3. Discuss verses 28-32. There is at least one point of importance in each verse.
4. What promise was made to Abraham? Genesis 12:1-3; 6-7.
5. With what was Abraham concerned at this time? 15:1-5.
6. Sarai’s handmaid, Hagar, bore a son, Ishmael, to Abram. However, this was not his heir. Discuss chapter 17:1-22. Note significant changes in Abram’s and Sarai’s names.
7. Genesis 17:17 speaks of the age of Abraham as being about 100 years, and Sarah’s about 90 (verse 21). What was the great test of Abraham’s faith after the birth of Isaac? Genesis 22:1, 2.

MOSES, GIVER OF THE LAW
Scripture reading: Deuteronomy 34:1-8.
Memory verse: Hebrews 11:24, 25.
Note. — Moses’ life was divided into three parts: (1) - in the courts of Egypt; (2) — in the desert as a tender of Jethro’s flocks; (3) — in the wilderness with Israel. Each of these three periods was forty years. It took him eighty years to prepare for forty years of service.
1. Discuss the circumstances which brought Israel into Egypt and placed them in bondage. Exodus 1:1-14.
2. How did Moses, a Hebrew, come to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter? Exodus 1:15- 22; 2:1-10.
Note. — Josephus tells us that Pharaoh’s daughter was Thermuthis, who had no child of her own. Moses was reared to become Pharaoh’s successor, and as general of the army, He led a very successful campaign into Ethiopia.
3. What was the turning point in Moses’ life, and how did it come about? Exodus 2:11-25.
4. How did Moses spend the second period of his life, and how did it end? Exo 3 and 4.
5. How did Moses launch his career as the leader of Israel? Exodus 4:29-31; 5:1-9.

WHO CHOSE JERUSALEM?

Note. — The Jews have always been a very prosperous people, and they have never forgotten Jerusalem. Each year at the close of the Passover, they shake one another’s hands and say, “Next year at Jerusalem”. This has been their practice now for nearly 2000 years in their prolonged exile over the earth.

5. What is said about the beauty of the situation of Mount Zion, and of the city located on it? Psalms 48:2, 3.

ENDURING TRIBULATIONS

NOTE: In a scriptural sense persecution was the active and malignant opposition with which the Messianic of all ages have met with from the enemies of Messiah, and thus will it be until the return of our Lord and Saviour.

THOU SHALT NOT TAKE HIS NAME IN VAIN
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 5:1-20.
Memory Verse: Exodus 20:7.
1. What did Yahshua say about taking an oath? Matthew 5:33-37.
2. What did James instruct us to do when we are asked to take an oath? James 5:12.
3. If any one swore falsely during the Levitical age, how was he punished? Leviticus 6:2-6.
NOTE: We see that taking an oath was not forbidden by the law of Moses. However Yahshua came to magnify the law (Isaiah 42:21) and this forbids taking an oath.
4. How serious an offence is it to take the name of the Lord our Elohim in vain? Leviticus 24:11-14.
5. What did Paul have to say about vain words? Ephesians 5:4,6; 4:29; Colossians 3:8.
6. What has the Lord promised us if we order our conversation aright? Psalms 50:23.
7. Are we able to order our conversation aright without a change of heart? Matthew 12:34,35.

NOTE: We are assured in the Holy Writ of Elohim that we shall not be held guiltless if we use the name of the Lord in vain, such as in swearing, or in taking an oath, or if we refuse to keep the Commandments of Elohim, and follow the traditions of men instead.

YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 3.
Memory Verse: John 3:3.
1. what did the prophet Malachi say about the messenger who would announce the Lord? What would the Lord Yahshua do when He came? Malachi 3:1-3.
2. What does Isaiah prophesy concerning this one that was chosen to prepare the way for earth's long awaited Redeemer? Isaiah 40:3.
3. When this messenger of whom the prophets spoke came, what was the burden of his message? Matthew 3:1-3.
NOTE: The people who came to John the Baptist desiring to be baptized didn't only accept the truth, but they felt sorry for their sins and repented and confessed to Elohim. Those who refused to give up their former sins were turned away.
4. What did John the Baptist have to say about Yahshua, for whom he was preparing the way? Matthew 3:10-12.
5. Shortly after Yahshua commenced His ministry, who came unto Him? What did he say? John 3:1,2.
NOTE: Could it be possible that Nicodemus was ashamed to be seen in the presence of Yahshua, and therefore chose to come by night, when the danger of being seen by his unbelieving friends would be less? This compares with people in this day and age who have heard about the Lord, but are afraid to confess Him, in the presence of their worldly friends.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TEACHERS

Note. — The fact that we are called upon to endure trials shows that Yahshua sees in us something very precious which He desires to develop. If He saw in us nothing whereby we might glorify His name, He would not spend time refining us.

Note. — We should learn to pray as Daniel. The answer did not come immediately, but he was confident that Elohim had heard him. In beginning the day, our prayers should be brought before the Lord, thus setting the pace for a victorious daily life.

THE WATER OF LIFE

NOTE: Many today do not yield themselves completely to the Lord and do not have the deep satisfying joy in their Messianic life. Serving Messiah, to them, is a burden instead of a joy. If you have not yet yielded your all to the Master - do so today!

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING

NOTE: The Bible tells us to “watch and pray”. Great accomplishments can be made by the prayers of His people. Let us continue to pray, as the Bible commands, for the peace of Jerusalem, for the leaders of our nations and for our brothers and sisters around the world.

A MESSIANIC EXAMPLE

NOTE: Many times we forget that we are to be the light of the world, and are to follow the examples left for us in the Word of Elohim. By our example of a Messianic life we may win souls for the Kingdom. It is therefore very important to be the best example we possibly can be and to pray daily for a Messiah like spirit.

Note. - The Lord’s second coming will be revealed from Heaven (2 Thessalonians 1:7). This is not a new doctrine but as old as the creation itself. Enoch spoke about the coming of His glory (Jude 14, 15). Let us be ready to meet Him when He returns to rule and reign over this universe.

KUSINGIZIA NA KUONGEA MABAYA
Hakuna mtu anapenda kusengenywa, wala hakuna mtu yeyote hufurahia kusingiziwa. Hata hivyo ni hakika hakukosi wazungushao uvumi na watengenezao masingizio. Hili linaonyesha kwamba wengi hawachuki huu mchezo wenyewe kikamilifu. Na ni wakati tu wao wenyewe wamelengwa na mishale ya uchungu wa kusingiziwa na kusengenywa, huwa wanatambua kikamilifu uchungu na ubaya wake. Wakati ujao tutakapojipata tukishiriki katika aina yoyote ya “kuzungumza mabaya” au kubashiri bila huruma, tunafaa kufanya vyema kwa kunjiuliza kama kweli tunajua vizuri tunachokiongelea. Mara nyingi watu hurudia kusema mambo ambayo hawana uhakika kamili. Wanaweza kuwa hata hawamnjui mtu ambaye wanasingizia, lakini wamesikia tu “hili na lile” kutoka kwa baadhi ya “watu mwezake.” Mwezake huyu mara nyingi, katika hali halisi, huwa ni “mgeni” – na kwa sababu hii yeye huanza kusingizia! Kwa hakika, baadhi ya nia kuu za kusingizia ni hisia za kujihisi duni na kuwa na wivu, ambao huletwa na hali dhaifu ya kiroho na haja ya kujihesabia haki mtu binafsi kwa kuwadunisha wengine.

UBISHI NI CHOMBO CHA SHETANI
Masihi alisema “Nyumba ambayo imegawanyika haiwezi kusimama...” Ukweli huu unaojulikana, hasa unahusiana na kanisa wakati huu. Mabishano na mgawanyiko umejaa kila mahali na ni silaha ambazo Shetani anatumia kufanya watu wa Elohim wawe wadhaifu. Biblia inafundisha kwa uthabiti dhidi ya ugomvi na mabishano kati ya ndugu. Masihi huangalia watu ambao hufuata mfano wake katika upendano wa wandugu. Masihi alijihusisha sana kuhusu jambo hili katika maombi yake kwa wafuasi wake . Hamu yake kuu ni kwamba, “Wote wawe na mmoja kama wewe, Baba, ulivyo ndani yangu, nami ndani yako; hao nao wawe ndani yetu; ili ulimwengu upate kusadiki ya kwamba wewe ndiwe uliyenituma. Nami utukufu ule ulionipa nimewapa wao; ili wawe na umoja kama sisi tulivyo mmoja. . . Mimi ndani yao, nawe ndani yangu, ili wawe wamekamilika katika umoja “(Yohana 17:21-23). Ushahidi huu wa umoja wetu utasababisha dunia ijue kwamba Injili ambayo tunakiri ni ya kweli. Kwa upande mwingine, ikiwa watu wa Elohim watajulikana kwa ubishi na ugomvi, hii itakuwa picha mbaya juu ya Masihi. Tunapojifunza kile Biblia inasema juu ya somo hili muhimu, hebu tujitahidi kusafisha mioyo yetu kutokana na mawazo yoyote yenye ubishi na kuungana katika mapenzi kamili ya Elohim.

Fahamu: Biblia inatuambia “tukesheni na kuomba”. Mafanikio makubwa yanaweza kupatikana kwa maombi ya watu wake. Hebu tuendelee kuomba, kama vile Biblia imetuamrisha, kwa ajili ya amani ya Yerusalemu, kwa ajili ya viongozi wa mataifa yetu na kwa ajili ya ndugu na dada zetu kote duniani .

Kwa mfano wetu wa maisha ya umasihi tutaweza kuokoa mioyo kwa sababu ya Ufalme. Kwa hivyo ni muhimu sana kuwa mfano bora tunavyoweza, na kuomba kila siku kuwa na nia kama ya Masihi. ***************

Henoki alizungumza juu ya kuja kwa utukufu wake (Yuda 14, 15). Hebu tuwe tayari kukutana naye wakati atakaporudi kutawala na kuumiliki ulimwengu huu.
